The WAYFINDER AR:T WORKS Projects - The Sunflower Project

THE SUNFLOWER PROJECT on AR:T ROUTE Blue.  The roots of the project use a past and present lens to commemorate the internment plight of all nations in the history of Canada.  A cross country act of connected planting, to shed light on the strength and resilience of all who toiled to build a strong Canadian future. And today we as a collective community invite everyone to plant seeds towards the recovery of Canada. In honour of yesterday, in light of a brighter tomorrow. @thesunflowerproject.ca

I am in a state of grace and sadness. The one and only Dr. Karl Schutz has started his journey to the murals in the sky. This province should award this visionary a huge award and place in Canadian history for the work of bringing the mural movement to Canada. What is a movement today bringing a new economy is because of this great visionary. I will miss you Karl ! Thanks for the fun trips and the mentoring you gave me. I was the first to receive your knowledge after the work you did in Chemainus in my town of Sparwood. I have carried your words with me my whole career. All the mural projects were done with your best practices!

I am now in tears as I now know you passed the torch to me with the gift of your car and your vision for a Canada and Global wide mural trail. I will keep that story and work alive. And ART ROUTE CANADA will happen as your Global Mural Festival network did. I am in a place of grace that you gifted me your story to keep alive.
